Planting Trees From Georgia Tree Nurseries

There are many Georgia tree nurseries and as a result there are several thousand trees available for purchase. When is it advisable to purchase and plant new trees? Most tree experts and nurseries will tell you that the months of dormancy which usually occur during the autumn months is the best time to plant your new tree. The reasons for this are because during the months of dormancy, you are causing the least amount of damage possible to the new tree. It is not as delicate as it is in the spring. Planting a tree in the summer is not advisable at all because the hot heat can cause a lot of damage to your new tree as it is very susceptible to damage then.

Georgia Tree Nurseries And Proper Tree Care

It is important to time the planting of your newly purchased tree before the brunt of winter hits. During the prime of winter, the ground has frozen and becomes too stiff and cold for the new tree to survive. You want to plant the tree while the ground is still easy to water and dig through. Georgia tree nurseries will tell you the same things when planting a new tree. You want the ground to be packed gently and yet still be somewhat firm. It is important to water your newly planted tree a lot, but not too much, so that it can have enough water to last through the winter months. During the winter, it is difficult for the tree to get the water it needs which is another reason why it is advised not to plant a tree during the middle of winter.

You want your tree to be planted before summer hits. It is also okay to plant your tree during the early spring as the soil is just warming up and dormancy is leaving. However, because the dormancy stage is wearing off by this season, it is important to be very careful when handling your newly purchased tree because more damage can be caused to it. Georgia tree nurseries should be able to tell you, based upon where you are located when the right time for you to plant your tree should be, as well as answer any other questions or concerns that you may have.
