If you are interested in visiting one of the best golf destinations in Mexico, you will have to check out Puerto Vallarta Golf courses. Puerto Vallarta is currently the home of seven world-class golf courses, including courses designed by the infamous Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf, and Robert Van Hagge. Each course is unique and has something to offer to everyone who enjoys golf that happens to be visiting the area. The most recent course- and possibly the best- in the area is El Tigre. Located in Nuevo Vallarta, in Paradise Village, the course consists of 7,239 yards, 72-Par with eight water bodies. The golf course was slated to be the “most exciting championship golf course in Mexico” when commissioned.
The Mayan Palace Golf Club sits right next door to the El Tigre. Designed by Jack Nicklaus’ senior designer, Jim Lipe, the Mayan Palace is not only fun, but less-challenging for those who are novices or beginners at the game of golf. The oceanfront green has a gorgeous view of the Pacific. Two other championship courses at Vista Vallarta sit a mere ten minutes away from the Marina. The Weiskopf course contains “jungle growth” with a Par-3 that gives the appearance of being carved out of a jungle hillside. Punta Mita mixes beautiful scenery with turquoise-colored Pacific Ocean holes. This golf course should be played with the best golf irons available. The only entry to the green comes at low tide. Unless you have access to a water vehicle or boat, the only way in is to tiptoe across a sandbar.
The location of the Marina Vallarta Golf Club causes it to be quite popular. Jungle foliage, lagoons, iguanas, tropical birds and a course designed by Joe Finger feature a number of holes with stunning views of the Banderas Bay. Paradise Village is a mere three minutes away from Los Flamingos Country Club. Located in the countryside with stunning lakes, jungle and countless bird, this Puerto Vallarta Golf Club features an 18 hole course and offers tennis lessons as well. Puerto Vallarta golf is more than a spectacular golfing experience- in 2006, the PGA made their first visit. Puerto Vallarta golf courses are a place where all golfers play- whether you’re a pro or aspiring to be one.
