Knife Sharpeners and Investments

My mom has a great set of knives – if one of them ever breaks, all she has to do is send it in and they will replace the knife, completely free, forever. So she has had the exact same set of knives since college and she has had no problems with them ever. They even gave her a few knife sharpeners to keep the knives sharp when the company is not attending to them personally. We also have someone come over and use our knife sharpeners so we don’t have to. Yes, it is a ploy to get us to buy more knives from them, but with a deal like that, why wouldn’t we buy more knives from their company?

This just goes to show how a investments can seriously work for the customers benefit. For example, my mom made a pretty big investment back in her college days, and she has not had to buy knives since. Also, my parents have the same set of china they got for their wedding. They have saved so much money over the years because they keep their things nice and clean, that is why they last so long. One day I hope to be like my parents.

The Sprinkler System Area of the Country

Once upon a time, I lived in an area of the United States where we didn’t need to have a sprinkler system installed in our yard to make our grass green. In that area of the country, there would always be a rainstorm that would come through just as the grass was starting to turn brown and it would inevitably turn the foliage back into the bright green color that we love.

Soon, though, I grew up and I moved away from that green part of the country to another part of the country where people have sprinkler systems installed in their yards. It was very perplexing to me to see those little pipes shoot up out of the ground into the air and start shooting water. I had never seen it before. It intrigued me. It intrigued me even more when they would suddenly stop and fall back into the ground. After discussing the mechanics of the sprinkler system with my then boyfriend, now husband, I realized that it was a pretty good invention, these sprinkler systems. Maybe, just maybe, when I grow up and have my own house with that wonderful husband of mine, I will install my own sprinkler system.

Benchmade Rift

Most things in life can be done a few different ways. If you are like me and have had a pocket knife your whole life you probably remember the basic designs that were available. You could get the Swiss Army type knife, it was generally the first knife kids I knew got. It was nice because there were so many functions it could do. I would always get told that they were what the Swiss Army carried, as I’ve gotten older it makes more and more sense. The Swiss Army carries the Swiss Army pocket knife because since they are never in conflice they don’t have to worry about getting anything done too quickly or too well: that’s what the Swiss Army knife is good for.

I quickly decided that specializing and specializing well was a better approach than to do everything poorly, so I got into lockblades. Things like the Benchmade Rift. The Benchmade Rift is an interesting knife simply because it locks, but not in the traditional way, it has a little pin instead of the metal block that most traditional lockblades use. At first my lockblades were mocked by kids who could impromptu cut each other’s hair with scissors, but once they realized my knife could cut theirs in half they stopped making fun of me. It worked out.

Happiness Through Document Scanning!

Are you sad? It’s okay, lots of people are. Guess what… you don’t have to be. Let’s talk about one simple way to improve your life and increase your happiness level. That method would be through cleaning and organization.

Organization can help you tie the loose ends in your life. There’s little reason to save something because you “may need it someday”. But if you really can’t let go maybe you could cut clutter by reducing piles of paper to a neat set of digital files with document scanning services. Think of the shelf and drawer and floor space you’ll reclaim by just removing paper. You’ll feel much better when it’s done.

Cleaning is an excellent way to redirect negativity. I find that I clean most effectively when I am angry. As soon as you’re done reading this blog, go take all of that pent-up anger about your life not being what you hoped it would be and start making a plan to clean your house. Once you get a clean house you won’t have to deal with the frustration of being surrounded by garbage and not being able to find things that you are looking for. People might actually enjoy being in your home, which is also likely to make you happier. Whoever heard of anyone being ticked that their social life was improving? Exactly… nobody.

The next step is to really get your stuff organized. Let’s start with document scanning. Get yourself a scanner or a document scanning company and go to town. Pretty soon you won’t have to worry about losing that important document in one of the twenty piles of papers sitting around your home. Score!
